Agreement to Terms

By accessing our website at ai-on-a-stick.com or purchasing and using the Hob AI assistant, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not access the website or use the product.

Product Description

Hob is an offline AI assistant that operates from a USB drive on the user's local machine. Hob is designed to function as a trainable knowledge base and workflow automation tool. Hob does not require an internet connection to operate after the one-time initial registration process.

Hob is sold as a physical USB drive containing pre-installed software. Each USB drive has a unique serial number and is registered to a single user during the initial setup process.

Product Registration

Upon first use, Hob requires a one-time internet connection to complete product registration. During this process, the following information is recorded:

  • Hob device serial number

  • User IP address at the time of registration

  • Date and time of registration

This registration links the device to its registered owner and is required before the product can be used. After this one-time registration, Hob does not require or initiate any further internet connections.

Purchases and Pricing

Hob is a one-time purchase product. There are no subscriptions, recurring fees, or hidden charges. The price you pay at the time of purchase is the full and final cost of the product.

Current product tiers and pricing are listed on our Pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but any price changes will not affect orders that have already been completed.

All sales are processed through secure third-party payment providers. We do not store your credit card or payment information on our servers.

Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not satisfied with Hob, you may request a refund within 30 days of receiving your product, subject to the following conditions:

  • The USB drive must be returned in its original condition.

  • The product registration associated with the returned device will be permanently deactivated.

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 14 business days of receiving the returned product.

  • Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the buyer.

After 30 days, all sales are final.

Product Updates

Hob includes free updates for the lifetime of the product. Updates are delivered through direct download from our website and are not pushed automatically to your device. You choose when and whether to install updates.

We reserve the right to determine the scope, timing, and content of updates. While we intend to continue improving Hob, we do not guarantee a specific update schedule or the addition of any particular features.

License and Ownership

When you purchase Hob, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the software on the USB drive you purchased. You own the physical USB drive. The software on the drive is licensed, not sold.

You may NOT:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute the Hob software to other devices or users.

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Hob software.

  • Remove, alter, or obscure any patent pending notices, copyright notices, or other proprietary markings on the product or software.

  • Resell, rent, lease, or sublicense the Hob software or USB drive to any third party.

  • Use Hob to develop a competing product or service.

One Hob license is valid for one user on one device. If you need additional licenses, they must be purchased separately.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Hob in a lawful and responsible manner. You may NOT use Hob to:

  • Engage in any illegal activity or facilitate criminal conduct.

  • Store, process, or distribute illegal content of any kind.

  • Harass, threaten, or harm any individual or group.

  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others.

  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or tamper with the product registration system.

  • Attempt to circumvent any security features or restrictions built into the software.

We reserve the right to cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities in the investigation of any suspected criminal activity involving our products. The one-time registration data collected during setup may be disclosed in response to valid legal orders from governmental authorities.

Anti-Abuse Protection

Hob includes a built-in safety system (SYS) that monitors for misuse. If SYS detects that Hob is being used in ways that violate these Terms of Service or that pose a risk of harm, SYS will progressively restrict Hob's functionality. Continued misuse may result in the removal of all AI features, leaving only basic USB storage functionality.

Once features have been restricted by SYS, they cannot be restored by the user. To restore full Hob functionality, you must return the device to AI on a Stick for a factory reset. The factory reset process includes:

  • Complete formatting and wiping of all data on the device.

  • Fresh installation of the Hob software.

  • New product registration and activation required.

  • A factory reset service fee applies.

  • Shipping costs are the responsibility of the user in both directions.

Previous knowledge bases, playbooks, workflows, and all user data will be permanently lost during this process and cannot be recovered.

Anti-Duplication Protection

Each Hob device is uniquely registered and licensed to a single user. Any attempt to copy, clone, or duplicate the Hob software onto another device will result in both the original and the duplicate device being permanently disabled.

To restore a disabled device, you must return it to AI on a Stick for a factory reset under the same conditions described in the Anti-Abuse Protection section above, including the service fee and shipping costs. The duplicate device will not be eligible for restoration.

AI on a Stick reserves the right to refuse service to users who have repeatedly attempted to duplicate or tamper with Hob devices.

Intellectual Property

Hob, including all software, design, documentation, branding, and related materials, is the intellectual property of AI on a Stick. The Hob product and associated technologies are Patent Pending.

The AI on a Stick name, logo, and Hob name are trademarks of AI on a Stick. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

User-Generated Content

Any knowledge, documents, workflows, playbooks, or other content you create, upload, or store using Hob belongs entirely to you. We claim no ownership, license, or rights over your content. We have no access to your content as it is stored locally on your USB drive.

You are solely responsible for the content you store on and process through Hob, including ensuring that you have the legal right to use any documents or materials you upload.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Hob is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • Hob will meet all of your specific requirements.

  • Hob will operate uninterrupted or error-free.

  • Any errors or defects in the software will be corrected within a specific timeframe.

  • The results obtained from using Hob will be accurate or reliable for any particular purpose.

Hob is a tool that assists with knowledge management and workflow automation. It is not a substitute for professional judgment, legal advice, financial advice, medical advice, or any other form of professional counsel.

Autonomy Levels and User Responsibility

Hob operates on a progressive autonomy model with five levels (Level 0 through Level 4). At higher autonomy levels, Hob may execute tasks with reduced user oversight based on previously approved patterns and workflows.

By enabling higher autonomy levels, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • You are granting Hob permission to perform certain tasks without individual approval for each action.

  • You have reviewed and are satisfied with Hob's accuracy on the tasks you are authorizing for autonomous execution.

  • You remain fully responsible for the outcomes of all actions Hob performs, whether manually approved or autonomously executed.

  • You can reduce Hob's autonomy level or stop autonomous execution at any time using the built-in controls.

AI on a Stick is not responsible for any errors, data loss, or unintended consequences resulting from the use of higher autonomy levels.

Data Loss

While Hob is designed to operate reliably, USB drives and local storage are subject to hardware failure, corruption, accidental deletion, and other risks. We strongly recommend that you maintain independent backups of any important data stored on your Hob device.

AI on a Stick is not responsible for any data loss resulting from hardware failure, software errors, user error, or any other cause.

Termination

We reserve the right to deactivate your product registration and terminate your license if you violate these Terms of Service, particularly in cases involving:

  • Use of Hob for illegal purposes.

  • Attempts to copy, distribute, or reverse engineer the software.

  • Tampering with the registration or security systems.

In the event of termination for cause, no refund will be issued.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to the jurisdiction of such courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify registered users through our website or via email. Your continued use of Hob after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms of Service is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
